2nd Quarter Grants:  2014-2015

The En Ka Society of Winchester is pleased to announce the recipients of its Second Quarter 2014 - 2015 Grants.  The following organizations received financial gifts for use as described:

McCall Middle School Art Department - new art tools

Winchester Chamber of Commerce - holiday lights replacement

Emarc - offset tennis court rental fees for handicapped Winchester residents

The Children’s Room - for expressive arts supplies used in healing sessions

Mission of Deeds - funds in support their bed/crib sets campaign

Also granted by En Ka is a concert for kids at The Winchester Music School, Sunday March 22 at 3 pm, open to the public for a small admission fee.

Another recipient of En Ka grants, MyWRA, the Mystic River Water Association, presented plans to the public for reintroducing the native alewives and blue herring to the Aberjona River. Studies funded by En Ka have proven that the water quality and conditions in the Aberjona River, Wedge Pond and Horn Pond are of sufficient quality to serve as fish breeding grounds. Together with local and state authorities plans are made for installation of a fish trap in the renewed Central Falls in Mill Pond. During the presentation I was pleased to hear En Ka mentioned and thanked as the major donor for this study.
